MARINE COLLAGEN

WHY MARINE COLLAGEN?

Marine Collagen is actually the superhero of animal-derived collagen. Marine collagen is a type of structural protein obtained from sea creatures, consisting of pure collagen peptides in the form of white, powdery, water-soluble, Type 1, and is the most common form of collagen in the human body.

This structural protein is divided into small pieces by the production and transformation process called hydrolysis, and its molecular weight is called collagen peptide. The smaller the peptides and the lower the molecular weight, the easier and more effective the absorption of collagen by the body.

According to studies, hydrolysed marine collagen is delivered to the body up to 1.5 times more efficiently and has more bioavailability than bovine collagen.

For this reason, as MERMAID COLLAGEN, we preferred fish collagen, also called “white gold”, while creating our formulas, and we offer you fish collagen-based products with a very low molecular weight of 1000 Daltons, fast absorption and bioavailability.

Balık Pullarından Elde Edilen Premium Kollajen

In the MERMAID COLLAGEN series, we use abiotic-free, Kosher and Halal certified premium fish collagen with a molecular weight of 1000 Da, obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis from FISH SCALE.

TYPE 1  COLLAGEN

In the MERMAID COLLAGEN series, only premium collagen obtained from fish scales is used, which is a type of structural protein in the form of Type 1. There are 28 different types of collagen in the human body, classified according to their structure. However, about 85% of this collagen is type 1-2-3 collagen.

TYPE 1 COLLAGEN IS THE MOST COMMON FORM OF COLLAGEN IN OUR BODY. TYPE 1 COLLAGEN CONSISTS 70% OF OUR SKIN, OUR BONES AND CONNECTIVE TISSUES.

Type 1 fish collagen is also rich in two specific amino acids: glycine and proline. Glycine is the basis for sequencing DNA and RNA, while proline is the basis for the human body's ability to naturally produce its own collagen. Given that glycine is vital to our DNA and RNA, it performs many important functions for the body, including blocking endotoxin and transporting nutrients for body cells to use for energy. While proline can act as an antioxidant for the body and prevent cell damage from free radicals, its number one function is to help stimulate the process in the body, providing collagen synthesis.

Type 1 Marine collagen is a good choice for those who want to slow down the signs of aging, increase skin, hair and nail health, reduce the clarity of wrinkles and cellulite, increase the hydration and firmness of your skin, build bone strength, support cholesterol and blood sugar levels, and get support in weight management. Whether taken as a powder or liquid, fish collagen will help support and improve the health of your skin, hair and nails, bones and joints.

AMINO ACIDS COMPATIBLE WITH THE HUMAN BODY

Since marine collagen has an amino acid composition very close to human collagen, it has the capacity to be quickly absorbed by our body and provide optimal benefit, as well as this proximity with the human body allows marine collagen to stay in the body for a longer time.

It is considered the best source of collagen for medicinal purposes, as it is more efficiently and quickly delivered into the bloodstream. This promotes collagen synthesis in joint tissues, bones, dermis of the skin and many other essential body systems.

BIOEFFICIENCY and ABSORPTION

One of the most important factors to consider in the selection of collagen is its molecular weight. It is very important that the molecular weight of collagen is low in order to increase the absorption of collagen and to pass the intestinal barrier. The higher the molecular weight, the more difficult the absorption of collagen by the body. The very low molecular weight of hydrolyzed fish collagen compared to other collagen types facilitates both bioavailability and absorption. Fish collagen peptides are known to have higher bioavailability, as they are broken down into smaller particles compared to other types of collagen. This means it is more effective at delivering its benefits to the skin, joints, and other areas where collagen is needed.

SUSTAINABILITY and TRACEABILITY

Tilapia fish scales are used in our hydrolyzed marine collagen, which we use in our products, which is sustainably grown and fished without harming the environment. Our raw material that we supply has a sampling rate of 99%. Our supplier, one of the leading initiatives in the field of tilapia processing, has GAP, FDA and EU certifications. All production links, including the rearing, feeding and water monitoring of all their offspring, are controllable, traceable and pollution-free.

PRODUCTION PROCESS

Collagen is a macromolecular protein with a molecular weight of 300,000 Daltons and above and cannot be directly absorbed by the human body. Through a conversion process called hydrolysis, it is broken down into smaller molecular weights, called peptides, which are easier to digest and absorb. The product obtained at the end of this process is called peptide or hydrolyzed collagen. The more successful and high quality the hydrolysis process is, the smaller the long fibers in collagen and the lower the molecular weight peptides become. Since this production is more difficult and costly in marine collagen, the price of fish collagen is higher than that of bovine collagen.

With its marine collagen series, MERMAID COLLAGEN offers you unique food supplements in hydrolysed peptide form, in powder and liquid forms, with or without flavored, enriched or pure formula, which support beauty with health.
